Internet Safety
I just want to share with my visitors a few tips about internet safety.
1. Never give out your full name. Use a nickname or just give out your first name. My email name is Julia Smith, but that is
not my last name.
2. Never tell your address or even the city you live in, just use general locations like the state or your country.
3. Never give out any personal information to people you don't know, especially in chats. This includes the name of your school,
any teams you are on that might give your location.
4. Never agree to met people you met online unless your parents have ok'd it and they know where you're going.
Never go alone to meet someone and go to a public place.
5. Be careful when shopping online, make sure the site is secured and you have your parent's permission to use the credit card
or paypal account.
6. Do not download things from pop-ups. Just close the pop-up. Always be careful when downloading anything from
any site, and make sure you have an anti-virus program if you do.
Always remember, you never know who you are talking to online, they may be lying about the information they give to you. Have fun
on-line, but be cautious and smart so you can stay safe.
