How to Save Your Doll


1. Assemble your doll or icon in one of the makers.
2. Press the print screen button (located at the top of the keyboard)
3. Open a graphic program

4. Under the edit menu, select paste. Your screen capture will show up.



5. Select the mask tool and draw a box around your doll.


(sorry about the colours in this one, it should look normal in yours)

6. Under the edit menu, select copy.



7. Under the file menu, select new.
8. Under the edit menu, select paste.
9. Under the image menu, select attributes and choose the size in pixels. If it is an aim icon, choose 48 by 48 or if it is msn icon, choose 95 by 95. For a doll, choose something around 50 by 135<, depending on your doll. If you have a background you will have to estimate.



10. Save your doll as a .gif or .jpg or .bmp.
Note: gif and jpg in MS Paint dithers the images so it doesn’t look as good as it would in other graphic programs. For best results, save it as a .bmp file.

4. Select a new image. When the window "Create a New Image" come up, select custom size, then select pixels from the drop down list, then type in 640 in width and 800 in length and press ok. (if your screen resolution is 1024x768 then put that in.)

5. Press the paste button faq(on the toolbar) and your image will show up on the screen.

6. Select the mask tool and draw a box around your doll.

7. Under the image menu, select crop menu and then select to mask.

8. Under the image menu, select convert to menu and then select palleted (8 bit)

9. On the window that pop ups try out the different palettes, dithering, colors and presets until the result closely mathced the original.

10. Under the file menu choose save as... and when the save window pops up scroll down and choose .gif

11. When the gif export window pops up, IF YOU WANT A TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND, select image colour option and then select the eyedropper button and using it, click the background colour of the original to make that colour transparent. IF YOU DON'T WANT A TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND, select none and then ok.

4. Under the edit menu, select paste as new image.

5. Using the select toolfaq, draw a box around the doll.

6. Under the image menu, choose crop to selection and press ok when window pops up. faq

7. Under the file menu, choose save as... and choose compuserve Graphics Interface (.gif) and then press the ok button.

NOTE: IF YOU WANT A TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND DON'T press Ok, press the options button.

8. When the save option window pops up press the run optimizer.. button.

9. On the first tab, select the areas that match this colour option and using the eyedropper tool, select the background color to the doll.

10. Click on the colours tab and change the dithering to 0% and then press ok.

11. And there you have it, your very own doll!
